Alana Lapierre

Alana LapierreAlana LapierreAlana Lapierre

Hi, I'm Alana. I write stuff. About wine and food. Mostly.

As a freelance food & wine writer and editor, I explore the connections between wine, food, travel, culture, and business, telling the stories of the people, places, and traditions behind memorable bottles and dishes.

WSET certified (L3, to be specific) and Le Cordon Bleu trained, I contribute articles, editorial content, interviews, profiles, and photography to publications, wineries, agents, and events. I also work behind the scenes as a research and content consultant, copywriter, editorial collaborator, and collaborative writer (aka ghostwriter), helping leading wine and food writers, journalists, and industry experts bring their stories to life with research, interviews, and tailored storytelling.

Beyond writing, I’ve been invited as a radio and podcast guest, sharing insights on the evolving culinary and wine landscapes and also serve as a wine jury member at Sélections Mondiales des Vins, North America’s largest international wine competition.

My work has appeared in VineRoutes, Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants, The Vintner Project, CJAD800 Radio, Silo 57, Forbes.com, Elle Québec, Wine Enthusiast, and more.

In a previous (and sometimes still parallel) life, I pursued a Master’s degree in psychology and worked as a C-suite global executive and consultant in corporate communications and human resources, partnering with some of the world’s most recognized brands in beverage, fashion, retail, technology, and finance.

I’ve lived, written, and worked in Montreal, Toronto, NYC, Paris, Dubaï, Qatar, and Algeria, and I’ve tasted my way through 43 countries across 5 continents in search of the people and places that make food and wine truly memorable.

Currently based in Montreal, I’m happiest with a glass of wine in hand—at a favorite wine bar or unwinding at home with my pack of rescues: Birdy (pictured here) and Clooney (two ex-street dogs from Lebanon) and Snax, a bossy, three-legged Maine Coon.

If you’d like to work with me, collaborate, or just talk wine & food, feel free to reach out below or drop me an email at (...).

Cheers,

Alana

Oh. And while we're here...

No Ads. No Agendas. Just the Good Stuff.

I don’t do paid partnerships, sponsored posts, or “pay-for-play” anything. What I do offer is honest, independent writing shaped by curiosity, not advertising. Every piece is researched, fact-checked, and free from outside influence. Wherever I have editorial control, transparency is non-negotiable. If I’m invited somewhere, you’ll know. If something’s comped, it’s disclosed. And if I choose to write about a sample, I’ll make that clear too. Because integrity isn’t a buzzword to me—it’s my baseline.
